The Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel opened last month on the Balearic island’s northwest coast, not far from the infamous nightlife in the resort of San Antonio.

The Memphis-meets-Miami Modern inspired design, is reminiscent of Miami Beach deco.

Designed by Spanish studio Ilmiodesign, the hotel’s stark white exterior and simple shapes are enhanced by coloured lighting.

Two rectangular swimming pools can be found on either side of the circular bar which is topped with a 1920’s inspired typeface spelling out Paradiso.

Cabanas and loungers are placed around the pool.

Floral patterns are back. So, all you minimalist aficionados cover your eyes and wait for the trend to pass.  From Indian florals to Liberty style, or vintage and large floral patterns, you can your pick from an amazing selection available today. For intense or dramatic effect, a floral wallpaper is effective by covering a focal point, a wall, a niche or maybe just a corner of a room.

Wallpaper is not the only privileged choice for the floral pattern. Fine bone china plates, napkins, paperweights to name a few are some of the items that can be found decorated in this trend.

The styles vary, romantic, arts&crafts, bucolic, bohemian, oriental but the statement is clear: flower power.

hip hop grandpas of Nairobi

They’re known as Kabangu, and they’re a group of hip hop grandpas who’ve been around since the 1980s — or so it appears.

This ultimate band of “true hip hop heads” allegedly double as security guards by night in Kariobangi – one of Nairobi’s informal settlements.
By day, the four men are said to educate and mentor up and coming talents within the hip hop scene. A Kenyan photographer Osborne Macharia and stylist Kevin Abraham have created an imaginary supergroup of octogenarians.  Known as Kabangu, the fictional band has proven so popular many believe they actually exist ! source : cnn

Style Icon & Fashion Industry’s darling Iris Apfel joins the Supermodels – go girl !

Interior designer Iris Apfel, 93, is fast becoming one of the fashion industry’s most sought-after models, having just unveiled her second high-profile ad campaign in as many months.

Apfel, the fashion eccentric who’s also the face of Alexis Bittar for spring (she stars alongside Tavi Gevinson in the campaign), shows off her quirky, colorful sense of style in the ads, pairing one of Spade’s pink handbags with green trousers, blue polka-dotted socks and a giant white bow. Kloss, who favors a more classic, all-American look, is elegantly dolled up in white. Each model’s aesthetic couldn’t be more different, but they look lovely and harmonious sitting on a park bench together.

Bold Union Square Loft, NY styled by Ryan Korban

In an all-loft building in the Union Square area of Manhattan, designer Ryan Korban was tasked with making a wide-open, cold space feel like a home. Luckily, the client—a professional skateboarder—had a compelling art collection that became the jumping-off point for the home’s design. “The client had a ton of his own exciting artwork, which really dictated what the space should look like,” Korban says. source : domaine
